Happy Memorial Day

Gustav Klimt's five paintings had a happy memorial day but Celine, Andrea, and I did not after seeing this exhibit. What a waste of space and time. I hope the hype for David Hockney's Portraits will be what it seems, because this was not. LACMA is running out of idea's maybe they're just sad that MOCA got Rauschenberg and Lorna Simpson.

On the other hand A Curator'’s Eye: The Visual Legacy of Robert A. Sobieszek was quite nice. It had two collages which made me happy. One collage was by William Burroughs which I enjoyed and hated only because he's in a museum and I'm not and our work is very similar. Other than that its a small exhibit but worth seeing.

After walking around LAMCA we needed to nosh so we made our way to Mani's Bakery on fairfax where we sipped and ate tasty treats. We spoke of Nan Goldin, Cindy Sherman, and Nikki S. Lee. I love heated conversations about female photographers.

To make our day even better Celine and I met up with Heather and Filippo at Tourng in Thai Town where we ate delicious soup and got treated to a wonderful meal (thank you Filippo). Then Celine and I cuddled as we polluted our brains by watching hours of Six Feet Under. Yay for brainwashing TV. In the end we had a relaxing, art filled, food filled Memorial Day.

Gay Bingo At Hamburger Mary's

On wednesday night Celine and I rode our bikes to Hamburger Mary's for gay bingo. We were there for a fundrasier in support of her friend Terry (an old boss from UCLA). He's doing a triathlon for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.

It's 17 hours of running, biking, and swimming. Even after an hour of this I'd be crying, so I'm pretty amazed by his accomplishments. For those of you whom have never been to gay bingo, its pretty wild. There's a drag queen calling out numbers, people yelling out comments after every number picked, and buff gay men galore. It's a room full of characters screamin' and drinkin'. We had a great time eventhough we didn't win. Spending time with my girl is good enough for me.

Oh and on our way out a group of men asked to see my "big tits" so that was nice. Yeah right. I got hit on in West Hollywood of all places. Men!

Southeast Asia Opening

Everyone seemed to be having a great time. Thanks to all that came and showed their support.
